‘People of Pakistan will not fall for conspiracy of opposition’. The Express Tribune

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said on Sunday that he firmly believed that the people of Pakistan would not be part of the opposition’s conspiracy to target the institutions of the state.

Speaking to the media in Multan, FM Qureshi criticized the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Gujranwala rally for stopping the country’s military establishment.

“Who is called when there is an earthquake, flood or any other natural disaster?” The Foreign Minister asked. “Why are state institutions being targeted like this? This is because they [Opposition] They have their own agenda, ”he said.

The PDM is scheduled to hold its second rally in Karachi today, which will be hosted by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) as part of a nationwide movement of opposition to oust the Imran Khan-led government.

In the context of the help of Pakistani army personnel to the Sindh government during the torrential rains of Karachi, FM Qurais said that they [PPP] Even the city drains cannot be cleaned, let alone maintain peace in the city.

He said that the Sindh Rangers were instrumental in restoring peace in Karachi, and the armed forces were helping the provincial government in every disaster, and yet they were insulted.

The foreign minister said that he was a part of the meeting where it was said that the armed forces and state institutions should not be dragged into politics.

Quoting a meeting, FM said, “We should learn from our history and make a better path for Pakistan.”

The foreign minister questioned why PDM was targeting institutions at the Gujranwala rally when they were also present at that meeting.

“The sons of Shahbaz Sharf, Bilawal Bhutto, Ahsan Iqbal, Khwaja Asif and PDM President Asadur Rahman were present there,” he said.

He further criticized the Sindh government and said what kind of justice he expected from it [Centre] When he himself could not catch the killers of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

Furthermore, the Foreign Minister said that the opposition’s criticism of the judiciary was hypocritical. Qureshi said, “When the verdict is in their favor, they applaud the judges, but when they do not say that there is no justice in this country.”

To a question related to the government’s strategy to counter future PDM rallies, FM Qureshi replied that the government would deal with them politically.

“We will not use force,” he insisted. “We are a political party, and they are too,” he said, adding that it is a democratic country.

He said, ‘No one is stopping from criticizing the government. But, they should do so by staying within the boundary and political behavior. “
