Aiming to further boost Pakistan-Hungary trade, Pakistan’s embassy in Budapest is looking for new opportunities and ways to increase investment by the European nation in Islamabad, said Pakistan’s Ambassador to Hungary Muhammad Ejaz.
Speaking to All Pakistan Business Forum officials on Friday, the envoy said on the need to identify opportunities for joint ventures between Hungarian and Pakistani companies suitable for technology transfer to boost Pakistan’s exports and potential areas Stressed.
“Pakistan is one of Hungary’s important trade partners and both countries have the potential to strengthen mutual trade and economic ties,” he said.
The ambassador said that under the instructions of Foreign Minister Shah Mahmud Qureshi to use economic diplomacy to make Pakistan economically self-sufficient, he was engaged with Hungarian officials and business entities on a regular basis.
Ejaz was of the view that the country needs to make efforts to convert cordial and fraternal relations with Hungary into two-way trade relations to increase economic prosperity in both countries.
The envoy informed the businessmen that Hungary had made impressive progress in agriculture by introducing modern technology, research and good farming practices.
He said that the Pakistani Embassy in Hungary was focusing on a wide range of programs to collaborate with the Hungarian business community, including trade, education, public diplomacy, culture, gender equity and development.
Relying on the similarities between Pakistan and Hungary, Ejaz said that agriculture was the foundation of Hungary’s economy, just like Pakistan.
