PIA plans to start Pakistan-Istanbul flight operations from August
Lahore – Pakistan International Airline (PIA) plans to begin its operations in Turkey from the first week of August, the airline’s CEO said on Monday.
As per the plan, PIA passengers will be able to travel from Turkey to Europe via Turkish Airlines. Arsheed Malik said, “We hope Turkish aeronautical authorities will allow flights.”
Turkish Airlines has welcomed a plan by the PIA to begin flight operations of the national carrier to Turkey from next month.
In his letter, the CEO of Turkish Airlines proposed to unilaterally upgrade codeshare for a bilateral arrangement with Pakistan.
He said the two companies could also fly from codeshare to Birmingham, London, Milan, Barcelona, Copenhagen and Oslo.
Through this, Pakistani passengers landing at the airport in Istanbul will be able to book flights on European routes.
