Gilgit-Baltistan’s Agriculture Minister died of coronovirus
GILGIT – A legislator of the Gilgit Ballistan Assembly died on Thursday of a coronavirus as cases of infection on rapid growth in the country.
Officials said that Agriculture Minister Haji Janab of Gilgit had been undergoing treatment at the local hospital for several days and he lost his life today.
The deceased was also the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif has expressed grief over the demise of the party leader.
According to government data, the number of coronovirus cases in Pakistan increased to 158,850 by Thursday morning.
According to the National Center for Command and Control, the death toll related to COVID-19 has reached 3,093, while at least 59,215 patients have fully recovered.
Punjab has the highest number of deaths, totaling 1,149, while Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have recorded 916 and 755 deaths respectively. 89 deaths have been reported in Balochistan; Islamabad, 78; Gilgit Baltistan, 17; And Azad Kashmir, 13.
Two fatalities before COVID-19, as officially known, were reported on 18 March (Wednesday) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
