CPEC Phase-II: SAPM Bajwa to provide more investment opportunities for foreign investors
Chairman China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority Lieutenant General (retd) Aseem Salim Bajwa has said that Phase-II of the mega project will provide even more investment opportunities for foreign investors.
Addressing the signing ceremony of an agreement between the CPEC Authority and Chine Companies in Taxila on Thursday, he said that the second phase of CPEC will help revive the country’s infrastructure.
“The agreement will boost foreign investment in the mega project known for prosperity in the region,” he said, adding that under Phase-II, new railway tracks would be constructed and existing tracks would be expanded, allowing Pakistan The performance of the railway will improve further.
Talking about the current projects, SAPM said that all the projects under Phase-I are being completed on a fast track basis. “Eight energy projects have been completed, while nine projects are being completed,” he said. Projects worth 12.5 billion rupees have been completed under Phase-I of CPEC, while work is underway at a cost of about Rs 14 billion. “
He said that CPEC has now become a reality. “Through this, we are going to reduce the debt burden and we are going for business-to-business cooperation and looking at FDI. We are looking at individual entrepreneurs and investments, which will partner with Pakistani companies. ‘
He said that cooperation between companies will increase in the coming days and the public will get to see many activities under the banner of CPEC.
