PTI tests positive for MNA coronavirus as health crisis deepens in Pakistan
PESHAWAR – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member National Assembly Usman Tarkai on Saturday tested positive for coronovirus as the epidemic situation worsened across the country.
Tarakai, a resident of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, tested yesterday after developing symptoms and now the result came out positive. The jurist’s wife, a son and daughter-in-law also contracted the virus.
All family members have isolated themselves at their homes and have requested people to pray for their full recovery.
According to government data, the number of coronovirus cases in Pakistan increased to 95,024 by Saturday afternoon.
According to the National Center for Command and Control, the death toll related to COVID-19 has reached 1,935, while at least 32,578 patients have fully recovered.
Punjab has the highest number of 659 deaths, while Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have 615 and 541 deaths respectively. 54 deaths were recorded in Balochistan; Islamabad, 45; Gilgit Baltistan, 13; And Azad Kashmir, 8.
Two fatalities before COVID-19, as officially known, were reported on 18 March (Wednesday) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
