COVID19 – Pakistan army chief questioned after Shahbaz Sharif, Sheikh Rashid
RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa contacted the President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Shahbaz Sharif and the Federal Railway Minister over telephone to check his health as both the novels are positive for coronavirus.
The Chief of Army Staff wished him a speedy recovery during the talks. Now this infection has affected more than 125,000 people across Pakistan.
The railway minister is currently in self-isolation to deal with the virus earlier this week at his home in Rawalpindi.
In telephonic contact with Rashid, COAS asked him to take special care of his health and also made sure to cooperate when needed. The Railway Minister expressed that he is grateful to the Chief of Army Staff for inquiring about his health.
Separately, the health of the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly was questioned by the top general.
Shahbaz Sharif tested positive for coronovirus on Thursday and left himself at his Model Town residence.
It is pertinent to mention here that on Tuesday, Shahbaz Sharif appeared before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in cases of money laundering and disproportionate assets.
Last week, a Lahore High Court (LHC) bench allowed him to grant bail till June 17 in an almost identical case of corruption.
Advocate Amjad Parvez appeared before a bench representing Shahbaz Sharif, who had earlier survived NAB arrest at his Model Town residence.
