These areas in Lahore were completely closed by midnight
Lahore – The Health Minister of Punjab has said that some select areas of the provincial capital are being completely sealed due to rapid cases of coronovirus in the city.
Dr. Yasmin Rashid, while addressing a press conference here on Monday, said that coronavirus-affected areas would remain closed for two weeks.
“The lockout process will start from Tuesday midnight in Shadabag, Allama Iqbal Town, Mujang, Harbanspura, Wald City, Cantt, Shahdara and Nishter Town,” he said.
Dr. Yasmin said that despite the government’s instructions, people are not observing the standard operating procedures (SOPs) prescribed for the government of Pakistan.
He advised the people to strictly follow the SOP stated by the government at any cost. The minister announced that the government has prepared a special and separate strategy in those areas of Lahore where more cases arise.
However, it said that pharmacies and foodstuff shops would be opened in the sealed areas. The Punjab Health Minister said that fifty percent of coronavirus changes can be prevented by wearing masks.
He said that the whole world has been badly affected by this epidemic. She also requested to avoid spreading news that dominates public discouragement.
