PPP MPA tests positive for Sharjeel Memon coronovirus
KARACHI – Provincial legalist in Sindh Sharjeel Memon of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Sunday tested positive for coronavirus as a fast-spreading infection in the country.
MPA Memon, who is the central person of the Sindh government for coronavirus in Hyderabad, attended the assembly session two days ago.
He has now isolated himself at his home.
On Saturday, member National Assembly (MNA) from Nawabzada Shah Zain Bugti Dera Bugti and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Usman Khan Tarakai tested positive for COVID-19.
According to media details, the coronovirus test of MNA Nawabzada Shah Zen Bugti and several of his colleagues returned positive, while 15 employees of PPL Sui have also tested positive and isolated at home.
Meanwhile, PTI’s MNA’s COVID-19 test from Swabi Usman Khan Tarakai, his wife, son and daughter-in-law have also come positive and have isolated themselves at home.
According to government data, the number of coronovirus cases in Pakistan rose to 98,465 as of Sunday morning.
According to the National Center for Command and Control, the death toll related to COVID-19 has reached 2,002, while at least 33,465 patients have fully recovered.
Punjab has the highest number of 659 deaths, while Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have 634 and 561 deaths respectively. 54 deaths were recorded in Balochistan; Islamabad, 45; Gilgit Baltistan, 13; And Azad Kashmir, 8.
Two fatalities before COVID-19, as officially known, were reported on 18 March (Wednesday) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
